Privacy Policy Confidentiality and protection of personal data
Confidentiality and the careful handling of personal data are of great importance in my practice. I process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The information you share with me during consultations is treated confidentially. I am bound by a professional duty of confidentiality and do not share information about you with third parties without your explicit consent, except where I am legally required to do so.
Client fileIn order to provide consistent and careful support, I maintain a client file. This may include information necessary for organising and conducting consultations, such as contact details, information about your needs, notes from sessions, agreements regarding the support process, and administrative data.
If information from another professional — such as a GP or other care provider — is required, this will only be requested with your prior and explicit consent.
What data may be processed?Depending on the nature of the support, I may process the following data:
- name, address, date of birth, phone number and email address;
- information required for appointments, invoicing and financial administration;
- information relevant to your needs and support process;
- correspondence, appointments and notes from consultations.
Sharing with third partiesI do not share client information with third parties without written or explicit consent.
If you ask me to prepare a statement, recommendation or other document for a third party, this will be done solely at your request and in consultation with you regarding the content and purpose of the disclosure.
Retention periodI do not retain personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, for sound practice management, or to meet legal, administrative or tax obligations.
Once the required retention period has ended, data will be deleted or anonymised, unless further retention is legally required or necessary due to a legitimate interest — for example, in the event of an ongoing dispute.
Your rightsYou have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data supplemented, or — within the limits of the law — to request deletion of your data.
For questions about the processing of your personal data, please contact me directly.
SecurityI take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or unlawful use.
ComplaintsIf you have a question or complaint about your privacy or the processing of your personal data, I ask that you contact me first so that we can try to resolve it together.
You also have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
